On this first of 21 days of prayer, it’s important to lay out some goals. Why are we doing this? How might we be more specific than simply so that almost the whole city will celebrate the gospel of Jesus? That is our vision, but it is accomplished one moment at a time.

Broken people often followed Jesus closely, even to the point of asking Him repeatedly to heal them. Jesus was so gracious. He would respond with love and heart that was for their good. At least 4 times, He uses the phrase “what do you want me to do for you?” (See Matthew 20:32, Mark 10:36, Mark 10:51, Luke 18:41.)

At the outset of these 21 days, before we ask Him to move mightily in our church, let’s ask Him to revive our hearts. Imagine Jesus asking you the question: What do you want me to do for you?

Ask Him for that, not just today, but every day.

Today’s Bible reading: Acts 1:1-26
