Chris Shumate

Chris attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he got his Master of Divinity degree and Doctor of Ministry degree. He got involved with ministry in college by volunteering at his home church and then later serving as a ministry intern. He always loved the church and felt a pull towards ministry, it was in those years that God used those experiences to confirm a call to ministry.

Chris loves arrowhead’s passion for the gospel and for reaching people in Greeneville & Greene County. His role at arrowhead is adult discipleship and helping run arrowhead essentials. His focus is to help people take their next steps with Jesus and walk alongside them as they do so. His hope for his ministry is that arrowhead would see that everything we do serves the greater purpose of making disciples for the glory of God. 

In his free time, he loves spending time with his wife and three kids, reading theology books, playing guitar, and watching basketball & football

Most weeks you can find him enjoying some black coffee and punk rock!
