Operation Christmas Child - Box Pick-Up

OCCkids.jpg

Operation Christmas Child, a ministry that we participate in every year, provides impoverished children around the world with toys, hygiene items, and Bible books through shoeboxes filled by thousands of churches. It's a fun way for our families here in East Tennessee to participate in giving to others in need.

The process is easy! Simply pick up a shoebox in AKids lobby on October 28, choose a boy or girl, choose an age range, and go out and buy items to put in your shoebox. Toys, games, balls soap, washcloths, coloring books, a letter and picture from your family - just no candy, toothpaste, or violent toys. Then drop off your filled shoebox with a $9 donation for shipping internationally.

As in previous years, we're partnering with Chick-fil-A in Morristown for the shoebox drop-off. We'll update you when we've determined a date - so stay tuned!

Family Dedication

Family Dedication is an opportunity for a family to come together and commit to helping the newest addition to their family take a series of next steps with Jesus. This is not just a celebration, but a step families can take to lead their child to Christ. A traditional dedication focuses on the infant; however, Family Dedication focuses on the parents and family of an infant. The Families Ministry at Arrowhead wants to support and equip families from the beginning of a child’s life in order to raise a generation that knows and follows Christ.

Family Worship Sunday

On Family Worship Sunday, we take a break from the normal AKids elementary programming, and instead, encourage families with children (ages 4 and up) to enjoy church together. Family Worship Services will be oriented towards adults with the awareness that kids are in the room. In doing this, we hope to provide an environment where kids and adults will hear the same message, participate in the same activities and worship together.

Mission DC

This summer, high school students will be sent out and serve Impact as missionaries in Washington DC. The capital city of America is one of the most unreached locations in the country. Washington DC is home to nearly 700,000 people, most of which have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. Arrowhead has been blessed to form a relationship with Impact Church located in the heart of Northern Virginia over the past few years.

Partnership Class (Saturday)

Partnership Class (Saturday)

Each fall and each spring we do what we call partnership class, which is a two-hour class focusing on who we are and what we do, as well as what we believe church membership is all about. These two hours are broken down into two consecutive Sunday mornings from 11:00-12:00, or you can attend on a Saturday morning from 9:30-11:30am and knock out both hours. Should you decide to attend one of these classes, our elders will contact you to set up an informal time to get to know you in what we call an elder interview. At the end of this process, you are of course under no obligation to join, but all who do desire to join must attend the class and take part in an interview.
