Ready, Set, Wait.
Maybe you’re like me in that the new year brings fresh passion. I am ready to go fast right now. I’m tempted to run on in my own strength. Once Jesus’s disciples saw Him resurrected, the were ready to go. It’s interesting that He tells them to wait.
Acts 1:4 While he was with them, he commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father’s promise. “Which,” he said, “you have heard me speak about; 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days.”
Jesus instructed His followers that if they were going to do all He had for them to do, they’d need the power of the Holy Spirit. That’s what these 21 days are all about for us. I want God’s power for my life and for our church.
“Father, I ask you to baptize me and fill me with the Holy Spirit. I want this year to be supernatural. I need Your power to win victories over my sin and my circumstances. Help me not run ahead of You but be willing to wait slowly for you in these 21 days for all you want to say to me. Amen.”
