College & Young Adults

Over the past 5 years our church has placed emphasis on involving, caring for, and discipling college students. I know for me that the college aged years of life were extremely important to my development and growth. When I point to the way God revealed his gospel to me I point to that stage of life and the people who chose to invest into me during that time.

Scripture: Acts 2:42 - 47

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles. 44 Now all the believers were together and held all things in common. 45 They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with joyful and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved. -- Acts 2:42-47 (CSB)

This scripture has been our theme since we began our college + young adult ministry years ago. To live in true Biblical community we’re called to: devote ourselves to scripture, gather around the table and eat together, respond to God with the awe the creator deserves, we’re intended to live in unity, to live selflessly and generously, to be joyful, and to always have our sights set on adding people to our community of believers. College students and young adults, let’s keep chasing this and not grow tired of fighting for genuine community amongst ourselves. Church continue to support and pray that the developing generation would know what it truly means to love God, His People, and His church.

Prayer:

Father, thank you for the ways you’ve used students to impact our church. Thank you for the students that have decided to move onto the mission field after college. Thank you for the students that have chosen to stay and make life at Arrowhead and this community their focus. Continue to refine us and make our community look the way you intended it and the way that brings glory to you. Above all else, continue to add to our number those who are being saved.
