25 I have become its servant, according to God’s commission that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, 26 the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints.
Paul here describes how he became a servant to the church, according to God’s commission. Paul recognized that it wasn’t by his will that he became a servant to the church but that God chose him and called him to that purpose because it was better than the purpose Paul had created for himself. To make the word of God fully known, the mystery hidden for ages that we are so desperate for. That’s what we are called to teach.
Paul was alone in a jail cell but never abandoned his purpose even in that cell he decided to write this letter to encourage us to do the same. Paul realized that Gods purpose for his life was greater than his own. Are we living out our purpose spreading the hidden mystery of Gods love or are we keeping it to ourselves?
Today Father I pray that you remind me of the purpose You have called me to. I pray you give me the strength and courage to live it out daily. I am grateful to be Your servant and there is no other I would want to serve.
