The Daily5 is a simple guide for daily time with God. Five activities for five minutes each. Start with the short devotional below, then pick four more activities from the listed options. It's ok if you can only do three or four activities! Commit each day to complete at least one of the five.

1 John 1:1-4

What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have observed and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— 2 that life was revealed, and we have seen it and we testify and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us— 3 what we have seen and heard we also declare to you, so that you may also have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 We are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

Summary:

John literally saw Jesus. He’s writing to us who did not see Him with our eyes, yet believe that He is real. Be honest: Do you sometimes doubt if He’s real? Most of us do at times. We often believe that if we could see God or even see Jesus while He was on earth with our own eyes, we would be more convinced of His presence with us. John is writing to tell us, “I saw Him. He’s real!” Believe and know that you can experience Him with you today, too.

Prayer:

Father, help me believe You are there and very real. I want to have fellowship with you and complete joy today.

Reflection:

How does the fact that John saw Him with his own eyes and can testify that what He heard and said is true strengthen your faith?

When did you last experience Him as very real? Ask Him for that again.
