The Daily5 is a simple guide for daily time with God. Five activities for five minutes each. Start with the short devotional below, then pick four more activities from the listed options. It's ok if you can only do three or four activities! Commit each day to complete at least one of the five.
1 John 3:11-15
11 For this is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another, 12 unlike Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous.
13 Do not be surprised, brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death. 15 Everyone who hates his brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.
In the book of Genesis, Cain killed his brother Abel in order to cover up for his own sins. Think of ways you have covered up sin. We all do it and suffer consequences in our own souls - we even at times feel dead inside. And still, God sends Jesus to bring life out of this death! Meditate on verse 14 and think about how Jesus has brought life to you. Make some notes on what God says as you do.
Father You are the Giver of life. I want to follow You at all costs today, even if that’s not popular.
How is life different for you with Jesus than it was or would be without Him?
