The Daily5 is a simple guide for daily time with God. Five activities for five minutes each. Start with the short devotional below, then pick four more activities from the listed options. It's ok if you can only do three or four activities! Commit each day to complete at least one of the five.
1 John 3:16-18
16 This is how we have come to know love: He laid down his life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has this world’s goods and sees a fellow believer in need but withholds compassion from him—how does God’s love reside in him? 18 Little children, let us not love in word or speech, but in action and in truth.
Summary and Reflection:
Jesus’s love is so real because He sacrificed for us. How do you sacrifice for others? Make some notes on ways you can lay down your life today. Not off in the distant future or in the vague notion of “needing to do better” at sacrifice. Planning and not doing brings more anxiety because our lives don’t match our intentions. Write down 1 way you can sacrifice for someone else today.
