1 John 5:5-12

5 Who is the one who conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 6 Jesus Christ—he is the one who came by water and blood, not by water only, but by water and by blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7 For there are three that testify: 8 the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and these three are in agreement. 9 If we accept human testimony, God’s testimony is greater, because it is God’s testimony that he has given about his Son. 10 The one who believes in the Son of God has this testimony within himself. The one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony God has given about his Son. 11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 The one who has the Son has life. The one who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Summary:

Our “testimony” is that Jesus is life. How have you felt in the past and where are you tempted to believe today that Jesus is a burden to carry, that life with Him is too much or too hard? Though we may suffer as His follower since He did as well, He is enough for us. He is good!

Prayer:

Father, thank You that You are enough for me today. No matter my circumstances, You are enough.

Reflection:

Do I see my faith as a burden or blessing?
