The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him. And this was why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath.
If you chose to get well, there will be haters.
In verses 9-16, the religious came up to this man and asked him what he was doing carrying his mat on the sabbath. The man explained to them that after 38 years of being an invalid, he had been completely healed. Instead of being happy for him, instead of congratulating him on his new life, instead of giving God the glory, they condemn him for breaking one of their rules. Unfortunately, there will be people in your life that don’t want you to get well. Why that is I don’t know. But if people were upset with Christ, they will hate on you too. It might be a co-worker, it might be a long-time friend, it may even be a family member. So decide, “Do you want to get well?”
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
Father, I know that through you I can be well. Thank you for giving me the desire to be healed.
