2023 21 days of prayer: day 11

“The Swiss theologian Karl Barth once said, ‘To clasp the hands in prayer is the beginning of an uprising against the disorder of the world.’ Prayer is the means by which we push back the curse that’s infected the world and infected us. When we engage in intercessory prayer, we are loving others on the basis of heaven’s resources. Prayer is heaven’s highest security clearance—free access to stroll right into the heavenly vault, gather up whatever we can carry, and hand it out to the world.” (Tyler Staton)

If you’re still hanging in at this midway point in these 21 days, you’re probably more likely to believe prayer can feel like an uprising. Almost two weeks of asking God to do the same things over and over can feel like a war. Confidently know that lots have turned back, but not you. Why are you seeking the Lord today? What do you need to reaffirm your commitment to asking Him for?
