Alyssa johnson

Meet Alyssa, a spirited individual whose journey from central Illinois to Phoenix, Arizona during high school laid the foundation for a profound commitment to ministry. Initially drawn to Jefferson City, Tennessee to pursue nursing and play volleyball at Carson-Newman, a worship internship at Arrowhead sparked a transformative shift, redirecting her path toward vocational ministry.

Currently pursuing a degree in Biblical counseling, Alyssa envisions using her knowledge to enrich both personal and counseling ministries at Arrowhead. Her decision to serve full-time at Arrowhead stems from a deep love for the local church, and wanting to help people feel at home at Arrowhead. As the YTH and C+YA Ministries Assistant, Alyssa works in discipling girls, guiding them in their journey with Jesus. Additionally, she serves as the church's Social Media Manager, sharing the work the Lord is doing at Arrowhead on social media.

Her profound love for the local church and the transformative power of the gospel drive Alyssa’s vision for ministry. Outside of ministry, Alyssa enjoys travel, antiquing, sipping on a good matcha latte, and indulging in her love for watching Gilmore Girls.

Alyssa is engaged to Alex DeRusha, and is getting married this upcoming summer. Alex is a part of the Knoxville Fellows program and works in commercial real estate in Knoxville.
