2023 21 days of prayer: day 3

Living by the Word of God brings freedom (John 8). It’s a life of security and joy. And, maybe the best part is that the reward we get on earth is only partial. In Matthew 5-7, Jesus preaches his Sermon on the Mount. The first 12 verses we read today remind us that our final reward is in heaven. We delay today for the sake of tomorrow. Whatever you’re giving up for these 21 days in part or in full are a sacrifice, and that’s part of the design. We are blessed today by being hungry, not only in our fullness. We’re blessed when we pursue peace because Jesus will make war on our behalf and grant us full victory in heaven. We can see God today in our joyful obedience, but we can see Him with our eyes in heaven.
